Founding the business 9 years ago, Michael has used his skills from previous employment, and life lessons to build positive relationships with both customers and staff. Drawing from hard work at an early age in his Fathers Transport Business, and Uncle’s Sawmill, to a University Degree and working in the Hospitality Trade, Michael has a broad knowledge of various industries.

Respect from your customers must be earnt, by building a positive relationship; look for ways to help your customers do things better. To help a customer do things better, you need to know your product, and provide solutions beneficial to both parties. By helping our customers do the job better, doors will open, and a mutual respect is gained. Reacting quickly to the customers needs is then, the most important task of the day.

The better half, helps keep Michael grounded. Mellissa has come from an Engineering Business background, helping grow a successful family business for many years.

Phil Hobbin (General Manager)
Phil was recently appointed General Manager of the company, as Michael has realised over the years in knowing Phil, that he shares the same goals. Phil shares the same attitude that customers come first, and we must work hard to be better than our competitors.
Phil brings experience from Panel Beating, Welding and Spray Painting to Retail experience working for Coles and Coca Cola over a number of years.
Phil is behind the company 100% in its aim to bring the best products, at the best prices, backed by the best service.

Garry joined the company a number of years ago in a sales position, and has grown to be a valuable asset to the company, still offering sales support however now heading up our Purchasing and Procurement. Garry is the man to get what you need into stock, and make sure we service your needs through our supplier network.
Gaining experience from his early employment, to working in our small family owned company, Garry is there to help with any enquiry you may have.

Todd has been employed as our External Salesman approximately 12 months ago taking over the reins from Phil, our now General Manager.
Full of youth and enthusiasm, Todd has gained an extensive general knowledge of Power and Hand Tools, Gas and Welding in his previous employment.
Todd also draws experience from employment in a Cabinet Making Field, and will only be too happy to call on you soon, and discuss how we can help your business do things better, with a broad knowledge of our extensive product range.

Sally works tirelessly on making sure your accounts are in order, keeping accurate books and reacting to any account enquiries you may have.Sally’s pleasant nature is an asset to our business, and is always the first to grab the phone and direct your call.

Bek as she is better known has also been employed in our company for around 12 months in a Sales Role. Bek will make sure your orders are dispatched on time, and is only to keen to help with any sales enquiry you may have. Drawing experience from a Panel Beating trade, and her love of cars, she has a good general knowledge of the products we sell.

Peter has come back to Blacksmith Jacks after a number of years in Brisbane, working in Sales specialising in Fasteners and Industrial Supplies.
Prior to this Peter had worked in our company in a similar role, with again a good general knowledge of the range of Industrial and Safety Supplies sold in our store.
Peters outgoing personality, and customer service skills make for a dedicated employee.

Kade has been with our company for around two years now, who began as a delivery driver and now heads up our Stores and Warehouse. Kade ensures the stock coming in, and orders going out are correct and are what you have ordered. Kade’s store experience is coming into play, organising our the back end of our new building.
Kade is a great team player, who has a long term goal with our company, ensuring the success of every correctly picked order is a step in the right direction for our business.

Nathan has joined our crew around twelve months ago as well, helping both Ken and Kade get the job done. Nathan has come from managing large cattle properties, where hard work is a pre-requisite.
